Dr. Wayne Scott Christie Hons BSc Kin, DC
Prior to becoming a Chiropractor, Dr. Christie graduated Summa Cum Laude from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science Kinesiology degree. He then completed his Chiropractic degree, graduating Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Dr. Scott is also a certified Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Provider (McMaster University), a Concussion Management Practitioner (Complete Concussion Management), a Functional Range Release Provider, Kinesio Taping practitioner, and has taken numerous courses in Graston Techniques, Orthotic fittings, Functional Neurology and Functional Anatomical Palpation. He has a strong belief in life-long continuing education and continues to expand and master his clinical skills through various manual therapy, exercise, and rehabilitative courses and seminars.
Areas of Interest: Dr. Scott practices an evidence-based, functional and diversified model of care; his individualized patient care consists of numerous types of therapies, treatment approaches, and exercise rehabilitation to get his patients back to feeling better and performing optimally.
Dr. Scott’s major areas of expertise include: Concussion Management, Athletic physiological testing and professional program design, strength training and aerobic prescriptions for optimal fat loss, and fitness program design for maintaining health while aging.
Accomplishments: Over the past 20 years, Dr. Scott has functioned in a variety of roles that include fitness facility Entrepreneur, Sport Scientist, Coach, Certified Kinesiologist, Personal Trainer, Athlete and Teacher. He creates an environment that allows all people to work toward achieving a pain free fully functioning lifestyle. One of Dr. Scott’s main roles as a certified kinesiologist was working closely with medical doctors, physiotherapists, and other chiropractors to both restore function and remove pain for thousands of his clients.
Dr. Scott also spent several years as an educational instructor for the Sport Performance Institute and was responsible for teaching, educating and certifying many of today’s personal trainers. His high professional standards and determination to constantly help others has afforded him the opportunity to work with several elite teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies, Canadian National Rowing Team, and the Canadian National Sledge Hockey Team. In 1998 Dr. Scott was named the Special Olympic’s Coach of the Year.
Dr. Scott is also a published author. His research entitled “Cross-frictional therapy and stretching for the treatment of palmar adhesions due to Dupuytren’s contracture: a prospective case study.” is published in the Journal of Manual Therapy.

Samm Fowles

Samm has been apart of the CheerForce community for the past 8 years competing one of their worlds level teams. Although Samm did not grow up with cheerleading she spent most of her youth and teen-aged years competing in rugby, kayaking, football, and several other recreational sports.
Samm current focus is the Athlete Development Program, a 12-week program and her and Dr. Scott have designed to focus on cheerleading specific strength and conditioning in order to enhance skill development, body awareness/flexibility, and peak performance for cheerleading.
As most athletes experience, Samm has had her fair share of injuries throughout the years. From these injuries she was learned how important it is to effectively workout for your sport. Samm is passionate about teaching athletes the balance of working out and practicing/competing to reduce the risk of injuries and help strengthen athletes to achieve their peak performance.

Reece Holmes

Reece has been cheering at CheerForce for 10 years and her 5th season on IO6 Golden Girls. She enjoys being active on a daily basis and spends most of her free time is outdoors with her dogs or in the gym.
Reece’s lifting journey began 2 years ago shortly after tearing her ACL. What began as rehab turned into passion. She enjoys strength training as it has significantly reduced her injury risk and has overall improved her sport performance. Reece trains and completes at a worlds level which makes her able to offer a unique perspective and first had knowledge of what it takes to succeed in the sport of cheerleading. She wants to share her knowledge and believes that in order to be successful in a sport you need to put time into strength training to reach your full potential.

Kristen Pawlick RMT, CAT(C), BAHSc.(AT)
Kristen is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist and is also certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture.
Kristen’s therapeutic focus is on musculoskeletal injuries using Neurofunctional Acupuncture and manual treatment to address pain and increase function. Neurofunctional acupuncture facilitates a faster healing response for quicker return to work, sport and play.
In addition to manual treatment, Kristen is a Senior Instructor with the McMaster Contemporary Acupuncture Program and an Examiner with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Kristen was also the Head Therapist for CheerForce WolfPack in Oakville for 4 years. Kristen’s field experience includes the Pan American Games in 2015, University of Toronto Varsity Women’s Field and Ice Hockey programs, Women’s Ontario and Canadian Field Hockey teams and numerous local youth sporting events.
Kristen is an associate of Global Healthworks Foundation; a not for profit foundation that provides acupuncture and massage therapy to poverty stricken communities. During her trips to Guatemala with this foundation, Kristen has assisted in the training of local healthcare workers in their effort to continue excellent care.
